The GlacierFresh GFXWFE™ is rated for 6 months or 300 gallons. Stretching it beyond that is not recommended — as the carbon block becomes saturated, filtration efficiency drops and the filter can actually become a breeding ground for bacteria. If you have a smaller household with light usage, 6 months is still the safe maximum regardless of gallon count.
