This is the total capacity of the upper tank. The actual total system capacity is 3 gallons (2.25 gallon upper tank + 0.8 gallon lower tank after filtration). For a family of four, this is usually enough for a whole day's drinking water needs without frequent refills. The flow rate of "up to 3 gallons/hour" refers to the speed at which water is filtered from the upper tank to the lower tank.

This is a nice metal system with lots of parts. The filter is to be replaced every 90 days and there is a battery counter on the lid handle.
The GlacierFresh Countertop Stainless Steel Gravity Water Filter system was easy to set up and start using. The first run through, the water was a little off, but after that , it was perfectly delicious! Even my two kittens like it better than the tap water. Features I really like include the non slip rubber on the bottom, the spout and handle design, the ease of getting the lid on and off, the brushed stainless steel so that it's not really shiny, and the capacity. The size does not overwhelm everything else in my kitchen.

This is a really nice-looking water filtration system that fits perfectly in the corner of our dining room. Assembly was easy and the unit feels solidly constructed. I did put a small dish under the spout as a precaution, but we haven't needed it as there have been no drips. The water definitely tastes better than my previous filtered water, even my coffee tastes better! Taking off a star as it's heavy and very hard to maneuver when trying to clean it for the 1st time before using. Directions also say that the spout should be cleaned too but no instructions as to how.

Unfortunately so far the numbers when I test the water are not what I had hoped for, and were less than my Zero Water Filter pitcher provides. Not sure how I feel about that, and am going to test again after the full batch of fresh water I just added comes back.
I like to system and I like the fact that my water no longer smells like I'm drinking pool water. I am disappointed from the standpoint that I expected the ppm of water solids to have decreased. Essentially, there is NO difference in the ppm of water solids from unfiltered to filtered. I don' t understand that. How do i know that it's really doing everything as advertised?

The seal is tight with no leaks whatsoever. The water does have a slightly metallic taste, but I believe that is from the initial filling and should resolve with use. This system will be very helpful, especially during hurricane season when water access may be compromised.?
