FAQ
Coconut shell activated carbon is widely considered the highest quality carbon source for water filtration. Compared to coal-based carbon, coconut shell carbon has a higher surface area and more micropores, which means better adsorption of chlorine, taste, odor, and organic contaminants. The GlacierFresh GF-1000P uses 100% Sri Lanka-selected coconut shell charcoal block — the same premium material used in high-end filtration systems — and is BPA-free and food-grade certified.
A 3-pack is excellent value for most households. Unopened filters have a shelf life of 2–3 years when stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong odors. Since each filter lasts 6 months, a 3-pack covers 18 months of filtration — well within the shelf life. You'll save money per filter and avoid the hassle of reordering every 6 months.
The GF-1000P uses a three-stage filtration process within the carbon block: first, a pre-filter layer captures larger sediment and rust particles; second, the coconut shell carbon block adsorbs chlorine, chemicals, and organic compounds; third, a post-filter layer catches any remaining fine particles before water reaches your glass. Importantly, the filter is designed to reduce harmful contaminants while retaining beneficial minerals like calcium and magnesium that your body needs.
Leaking from third-party filters is almost always caused by imprecise tolerances in the filter housing. The GlacierFresh GF-1000P is precision-engineered to match OEM dimensions exactly — the O-rings and housing geometry are designed for a watertight seal with no modifications. If you experience any dripping after installation, the most common fix is to remove the filter and reinstall it, ensuring it's fully twisted clockwise until it clicks firmly into the locked position.
It works with both. Kenmore refrigerators sold under part numbers 46-9980 and 9980 use the exact same filter as the LG LT1000P — Kenmore sources many of its refrigerators from LG. The GlacierFresh GF-1000P is a direct replacement for both brands with no modifications needed.
The GF-1000P carries three independent certifications: NSF/ANSI verifies contaminant reduction performance and material safety; IAPMO (International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials) is an accredited third-party testing body that validates the NSF claims; and ISO certification confirms the manufacturing facility meets international quality management standards. Together, these mean the filter's performance claims are independently verified — not just self-reported by the manufacturer.
Slow flow after a new filter installation is almost always caused by trapped air in the filter. This is completely normal and easy to fix: continuously dispense water for 3–5 minutes to purge the air pocket. Also make sure to run and discard at least 2 gallons to flush the new filter before drinking. If flow remains slow after flushing, double-check that the filter is fully locked — a partially seated filter restricts water flow significantly. If the issue persists, contact our support team.
After installing the new GF-1000P, press and hold the "Filter Reset" button on your fridge's control panel or dispenser for 3–5 seconds until the indicator light turns from red to green or turns off. On some LG models, the button may be labeled "Reset" or found inside the fridge near the filter housing. The fridge does not auto-detect a new filter — you must manually reset it every replacement cycle.
★★★★★
I ordered replacement air and water filters and was pleased with the quality and the price of both. The price was substantially less than the OEM price from LG. These filters work great and are an outstanding value.

This filter is a good replacement I used to replace for our LG counter depth fridge. The filter was easy to slide and twist in place no force or issues it worked in seconds and after flushing some water everything work as expected.
You CANNOT UNDERSTAND THAT I NEVER GOT THE FILTERS!!!
With a number of times I contacted you that the delivery address was incorrect, YOU STILL DON'T GET!
NO ONE IN YOUR COMPANY did anything about it!
I have been using the LG LT1000P filters for a while now, and they consistently deliver great results. Installation is incredibly simple, and the water quality difference is noticeable right away.
Perfectly replaces and fits into the filter canister. Great quality filter. Once you set it up, should last you about 6 months. Water filters fast, and streams down without issue.
This LG LT1000P filter installs easily and locks in securely without leaks. Fitment is precise, and it seats properly without forcing or adjustment. Water flow remains strong after installation, and there is no noticeable drop in pressure.
No tools required and the filter indicator reset without problems. I like that it uses coconut shell carbon and has NSF certification, gives me extra confidence in the water quality for my family.
This GlacierFresh LT1000P replacement fits my LG fridge perfectly with zero leaks or issues. Installation took less than a minute and the water flow stayed strong. After flushing, the water tasted noticeably cleaner. Great alternative to the OEM filter at a much better price.
We replace filters every 6 months, so cost adds up. These GlacierFresh filters work just as well as the brand name version but cost much less. Water tastes fresh, odor is gone, and pressure remains consistent. Highly recommend if you want quality without overpaying.
Fits well in my LG ADQ747935 refrigerator. Much better price than LG brand replacements. Without lab testing there is no way to tell what it is really filtering, but the water is clear, tastes fine, and no smell.
These are the only filters I use on my LG refrigerator. The water always comes our perfect and does not affect the pressure. These are better and cheaper than the LG filters.
This is my second purchase and these work great. They fit perfectly in my fridge. No bad taste from water and no pressure change from being installed. Definitely worth getting.
This is so good, I never see a mess at the fridge anymore. Before the guys in my house were always leaving a mess from drips or chucks of ice that melted. Now that area of the fridge is tidy and clean.
I have been using this brand filter and I am very pleased with it. It is easy to install, exactly as the instructions state, and as the refrigerator book instruction states. I find that the filter freshens the water water nicely and last for six months.
Fantastic! This is the first filter that included a tool to fix the refrigerator side when previous filters either didnt fit or were a nightmare to get on. Highly fit ADQ747935 and I strongly recommend this!
Easy to install. Great instructions. Clear water that tastes good. Minimal water leakage when old filter is removed which is normal. Follow instructions and discard 2.5 gallan of water when new filter is installed. I just collect the water and use it on my plants so it is not wasted.
These are great to keep on hand. They work well. Keeping the air and water fresh. I like having spare filters on hand to replace them when my fridge alerts me. Fits LG LT1000P just like the original ones.
Can almost taste a difference in the water. I just hate that they have to be replaced every 6 months at the price they're at. Not sure if the cost is worth what it filters from the water honestly.
