Turn off the ice maker, twist the old filter counterclockwise to remove it, insert the new filter and twist clockwise until it locks, then flush 2–3 gallons of water through the dispenser before use.

Why is my Samsung refrigerator leaking from the filter housing after installing a new DA29-00003G filter?

If the Glacier Fresh DA29-00003G water filter is leaking, stuck, or not locking properly, first make sure the O-ring is correctly seated and the filter has been fully rotated into the locked position. In many cases, minor leakage is caused by trapped air in the water line. Dispensing approximately 2 gallons of water can help purge the air and stop the leakage. If you are removing a stuck old filter, gently rotate it while pulling outward. Do not pry on the filter housing, as this may cause damage.

Does the refrigerator water filter remove beneficial minerals from drinking water?

No. The Glacier Fresh DA29-00003G water filter is designed to reduce harmful contaminants while retaining naturally occurring beneficial minerals such as calcium and magnesium. Unlike reverse osmosis (RO) systems, refrigerator water filters generally do not significantly remove these essential minerals.

Why is the water flow slower after replacing my refrigerator filter?

Reduced water flow immediately after installing a Glacier Fresh DA29-00003G water filter is usually caused by trapped air inside the filter or water lines. Dispense water continuously for 2–3 minutes (approximately 1–2 gallons) to restore normal water pressure. If the flow rate does not improve, the filter may be clogged or improperly installed and should be inspected or replaced.

Why are there black particles in the water after replacing the filter?
