FAQ

Yes — they are all the same filter under different names and part numbers. W10295370 is the original Whirlpool part number, W10295370A is a revised version (functionally identical), EDR1RXD1 is Whirlpool's EveryDrop branded version of the same filter, and Filter 1 is simply the consumer-friendly name EveryDrop uses in marketing. The GlacierFresh GF-370 replaces all four interchangeably — you don't need to match the exact designation on your current filter.

It works with all of them. Whirlpool Corporation manufactures refrigerators under multiple brand names — Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Maytag, Amana, and Jenn-Air — and many models across these brands share the same Filter 1 / EDR1RXD1 housing. The GF-370 is compatible with models from all five brands, including popular KitchenAid KFFS20EY series, Maytag MFF/MSB/MSF series, Amana ASD series, and Jenn-Air JSC series. Check your current filter's part number or your fridge model against our compatibility list to confirm

Yes — and this is the key distinction. NSF 53 is the health-based certification standard, meaning the GF-370 has been independently tested and verified (not just claimed) to reduce health-related contaminants including lead, mercury, asbestos, and benzene. Specifically, it's certified to reduce 97.9% of chlorine, plus lead and other heavy metals. NSF 42 (the lower standard) only covers taste and odor. If you're choosing between filters and one is NSF 42 while the other is NSF 53, the NSF 53 filter provides meaningfully stronger health protection.

On most Whirlpool models that use the Filter 1 / EDR1RXD1, the filter is located in the upper right corner inside the refrigerator compartment. To replace it:

1.Push the eject button or twist the old filter counterclockwise to release it.
2.Pull the old filter straight out.
3.Insert the GlacierFresh GF-370 and push in firmly, then twist clockwise until it locks.
4.Run and discard 2 gallons of water through the dispenser to flush the new filter.
5.Press and hold the "Filter Reset" button for 3 seconds to reset the indicator light.

The filter indicator on Whirlpool refrigerators is time/volume-based and must be manually reset — the fridge cannot detect that a new filter was installed. After replacing the filter, press and hold the "Filter Reset" button (on some models it's labeled "Water Filter" or combined with another button) for 3 seconds until the light changes from red/orange to blue or green, or turns off entirely. If you can't find the button, check your owner's manual — the location varies by model. The light wil

Yes. The Kenmore 46-9081 (also listed as 9081, 9930, 46-9930) is the Kenmore-branded equivalent of the Whirlpool Filter 1 / EDR1RXD1. Kenmore refrigerators sold through Sears were manufactured by Whirlpool and use the same filter housing. The GlacierFresh GF-370 replaces Kenmore 46-9081, 9930, 46-9930, and related part numbers with no modifications needed.

This almost always means the filter wasn't properly flushed after installation. Run and discard at least 2 gallons (8–10 dispenser cups) before drinking — this purges carbon fines and air from the new filter media. If the chlorine taste persists after a full flush, check that the filter is fully seated and locked. A partially inserted filter allows unfiltered water to bypass the carbon block entirely, which would explain why the taste hasn't improved. If the issue continues after a proper reinstall and flush, contact our support team.

No. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, Whirlpool cannot void your refrigerator warranty simply because you used a compatible third-party replacement filter. They would need to prove the third-party filter specifically caused a malfunction — which is extremely unlikely with a properly certified, precision-fit replacement. The GlacierFresh GF-370 is NSF/ANSI and IAPMO certified and engineered to OEM specifications. Whirlpool's own EveryDrop branding is a marketing strategy — the filtration performance standard is set by NSF, not by the brand name on the filter.

Nothing wrong here. Pretty much the same as previously bought brand for installation. I guess time will tell as far as duration of product. We normally get about 3-4 months from these filters before red light indicates a change is due.
