This is a nice metal system with lots of parts. The filter is to be replaced every 90 days and there is a battery counter on the lid handle.

This was super easy to put together right out of the box, and I had clean water in no time. I really like that it doesn’t require electricity, so it’ll still do its job if the power goes out. I loved that I could set it up right away after a simple wash of all the parts. After washing, you have to give it 10 minutes for the water to filter, and then it was ready to use. To really test it, I did a side-by-side taste comparison with water from our Zero Water pitcher. My husband immediately preferred the taste of the GLACIER FRESH water. I agreed with him. It has a clean, fresh taste with no chlorine smell and no metallic or flat aftertaste.
I had been researching water filtration systems for a few months and was happy to have the opportunity to review this item. The metal spout for me is a huge selling point as many gravity water filtration systems don’t offer this. It’s relatively light weight which is great because moving 2.5 gallons is no easy feet. The assembly was quick and easy and I love the removable base which makes it possible to refrigerate in our spare refrigerator if we want it cool for guests. This is perfect for our family of 4 plus 2 dogs and looks nice.

Overall, this is a solid product, though not perfect. A major heads up: the measurements were slightly off. The knob on the lid sits about 5mm higher than expected, which was just enough to prevent it from fitting under my cabinets. I’m a Chicago local and have used 5-gallon jugs for years, but I wanted something more convenient. While the water taste doesn't quite match bottled quality (there’s a faint hint of chlorine) it’s a massive improvement over tap. After two weeks of use, I’ve adjusted to the flavor. I was torn between this and the RORRA; while I’m not completely blown away by Glacier Fresh, it’s a decent middle ground option-and far cheaper. One note: the filter looks very simple externally (mostly charcoal and fiber), though I assume the internal tech is more robust. One improvement: a water gauge on the outside so you can see when it’s time to refill

I bought this Glacier Fresh System expecting premium performance right out of the box. While the stainless steel housing is nice and the upper filters the tank, the water exits the spigot in a completely restricted weak stream. This is a brand new set up that has been filled twice. For a product at this price point, the quality and performance testing should catch these issues before shipping. Instead I am stuck dealing with the hassle of trouble shooting a defective unit and correcting Customer Support for replacements. If you want something that works Correctly on Day One! and You have to pay out of pocket to send their Defective Product Back.
I'm only using it now for 2 days but since far I like it. The spigot does drip after up fill bottle so you have to leave container there for a second. I wasn't happy how long it took ti receive it and way longer to receive the extra filters I bought with at the same time. That concerns me about using this and not getting replacement filters on time. With that said its well made and easy to wash and use and the water from it tastes good. Alittle concerned about an open filter and wonder if stuff itscremovingbis getting back into water since it's exposed and wonder about the rubber parts on filter. The price was pretty decent.
