FAQ

Can a Frigidaire FRGPAAF2 air filter be installed in an Electrolux ELXPAAF2 refrigerator?

Glacier Fresh GF-A008 is designed to replace the Frigidaire FRGPAAF2 PureAir Air Filter and fits listed Frigidaire refrigerators with FRGPAAF2 PureAir filtration systems. Electrolux ELXPAAF2 is not listed as a compatible model on this page, so match the filter size, housing style, and refrigerator model before using it as a replacement.

Will a refrigerator air filter affect the compressor or cooling performance?

This air filter is made to freshen the air inside the refrigerator by absorbing unwanted odors. It does not replace any cooling system part and is not designed to control the compressor, refrigerant, or cooling temperature.

Can the refrigerator air filter be washed or rinsed and reused?

No. This is an activated carbon air filter and should not be washed or rinsed. Replace it every 6 months to maintain odor-reduction performance.

How long can a sealed refrigerator air filter be stored before use?

Keep unused filters sealed in the original packaging and store them in a clean, dry place away from heat, moisture, and strong odors. The product page does not list a fixed storage expiration date.

Can this refrigerator air filter remove odors?

Yes. The GF-A008 uses 3-layer activated carbon filtration to absorb unwanted refrigerator odors, including unpleasant smells and smoke-related odors.

Can this air filter help reduce seafood or fish smells in the refrigerator?

Yes. The activated carbon filtration helps capture and reduce food odors inside the refrigerator, including strong smells from seafood, fish, dairy, and other foods.

Are different refrigerator air filter sizes interchangeable?

No. Refrigerator air filters should match the required filter model and housing size. GF-A008 measures 7.8 in × 1.8 in × 0.4 in and is compatible with Frigidaire FRGPAAF2 PureAir Air Filter systems and the listed refrigerator models.

Does the refrigerator air filter need to face a specific direction during installation?

Yes. Remove the housing by turning it counterclockwise, replace the old filter with the new filter, and place the carbon side facing outward. Reinsert the housing and turn it clockwise until it locks into place.
