FAQ

Will using a third-party refrigerator filter void the refrigerator warranty?

This GF-3CB filter is not sourced by or sponsored by Frigidaire or Electrolux. It is designed as a compatible replacement for WF3CB and PureSource 3 filters. For warranty coverage, check the refrigerator manufacturer’s warranty terms.

Is this refrigerator filter safe for homes with pregnant women, babies, or young children?

This filter meets NSF standards for safety and performance and is designed to reduce chlorine, lead, mercury, and other harmful substances. Replace it every 6 months or 300 gallons to maintain filtration performance.

How do I reset the filter indicator light after replacing the refrigerator filter?

After installation, reset the filter indicator light on the refrigerator control panel. The exact reset steps may vary by refrigerator model, so check the refrigerator manual if needed.

Is it safe to keep using an old refrigerator filter if the fridge has not dispensed water for a long time?

Replace the filter if it has been used for 6 months or has reached 300 gallons. If the refrigerator has not been used for a long time, replacing the old filter helps keep the water and ice fresh.

Should the refrigerator water supply valve be turned off before replacing the filter?

Follow the refrigerator’s replacement instructions. For this filter, press the PUSH button on the filter housing, pull the old filter downward, turn it counterclockwise, then insert and rotate the new filter into place.

Is the third-party filter the same size as the original filter?

This GF-3CB filter is designed as a direct replacement for Frigidaire WF3CB and PureSource 3 filters. It uses a twist-and-lock design and installs without tools.

Can different refrigerator filter brands be used interchangeably?

Only use a filter that matches the refrigerator’s required model. This GF-3CB filter is compatible with WF3CB, PureSource 3, 706465, 242069601, 242086201, 242017800, PS3412266, and AP4567491.
