FAQ

Can a regular water pitcher filter remove lead from old household pipes, or do I need an RO system?

The Glacier Fresh replacement pitcher filter uses coconut shell activated carbon, ion exchange resin, and a pre-filter layer to help reduce larger contaminants, chlorine, and taste-impairing substances. It is lead-free and BPA-free. Lead reduction is not listed for this filter, so if lead removal is a key concern, choose a filtration system specifically certified for lead reduction.

How long does each pitcher water filter last?

Each Glacier Fresh replacement pitcher filter lasts up to 2 months or 40 gallons. Replace it sooner if the water flow becomes noticeably slow or the taste changes.

How do I know when my water pitcher filter needs to be replaced?

Replace the filter every 2 months or 40 gallons. A slower flow rate, reduced taste quality, or odor returning in the water can also indicate that it is time for a new filter.

How should I rinse or activate a new pitcher filter before first use?

Hold the filter under cold running tap water for 15 seconds and allow excess water to drain. Then insert the filter into the pour tray, push it down, and twist clockwise until it locks securely in place. Fill the pour tray with cold water and let it drain fully into the pitcher or dispenser reservoir before use.

What contaminants does this pitcher water filter reduce?

The Glacier Fresh replacement pitcher filter helps reduce chlorine, larger contaminants, and taste-impairing substances. Its multi-stage filtration uses a pre-filter layer, ion exchange resin, and coconut shell activated carbon to help improve water taste and smell.

Can this pitcher filter remove lead and fluoride?

This filter is designed to reduce chlorine, larger contaminants, and taste-impairing substances. Lead and fluoride reduction are not listed for this filter.

Can this pitcher filter remove microplastics?

Can this pitcher filter completely remove chlorine taste from tap water?

Unfortunately, the filters don't work for me. I measure the level of impurities before and after filtering and is stays above 200 units after I filter! Is there a chance I have been doing something wrong? Thank you, Natalia
