FAQ

How do I choose an ice maker filter that will not restrict water flow or make my Opal ice maker noisy?

Choose a filter designed for P4INKFILTR and compatible with Opal ice makers. This Glacier Fresh filter fits all Opal products and uses a coconut shell carbon block to help filter water without changing the normal setup of the ice maker.

How often should the Opal ice maker water filter be replaced?

Replace the filter every 3 months for best filtration results.

What impurities does this Opal ice maker filter help reduce?

The filter has been tested and verified by independent laboratory testing to reduce 97.9% chlorine. It also helps improve the smell and taste of water.

Will the ice taste different after replacing the filter?

Yes, the ice may taste cleaner because the filter helps reduce chlorine and improve water smell and taste.

Do I need to throw away the first batch of ice after replacing the filter?

Yes. After installing a new filter, discard the first batch of ice to help clear out any loose carbon particles and allow the filter to start working properly.

Does this ice maker filter have a required installation direction?

Yes. Insert the nozzle end of the filter into the opening, then rotate it down until you hear and feel a snap.

Why is the water flow slower after installing a new Opal ice maker filter?

Slower water flow can happen if air remains in the filter or water line after installation. Soak the new filter in water for 3 minutes before installation and let the ice maker run for a few minutes. If the flow does not return to normal, check that the filter is snapped fully into place.

Is this filter compatible with all Opal ice makers?

Yes. This filter is a replacement for P4INKFILTR and is compatible with all Opal products.
