FAQ

What is the difference between classic Brita Maxtra and newer Maxtra+ / Maxtra Pro filters?

Glacier Fresh GF-59 is made for Brita pitchers that use Maxtra and Maxtra+ style cartridges, including Marella, Marella XL, Marella Cool, Style, Style XL, Elemaris XL, Aluna, Aluna Cool, Mavea Elemaris, and Marella systems. Maxtra Pro compatibility is not listed for this filter.

Is this water filter pitcher cartridge enough for a family that drinks a lot of water?

Yes, it can be used for daily drinking water in compatible Brita pitchers. For best water quality, replace the cartridge every 1 month, or sooner if water quality or usage is heavy.

What does it mean if the water filters more slowly than before?

Slower filtration may mean the cartridge has reached its replacement period or has collected impurities from tap water. Replace the cartridge every 1 month for better filtration performance.

What should I do if mold appears on the water pitcher lid?

Remove the cartridge, clean the pitcher and lid thoroughly, and let them dry before use. Replace the filter cartridge if it has been used for about 1 month or if the pitcher has not been cleaned for a long time.

Can the water filter pitcher be placed in the dishwasher?

Check the care instructions for the specific pitcher model. The Glacier Fresh GF-59 cartridge itself should be replaced regularly and should not be washed for reuse.

What are the advantages of glass water pitchers and plastic water pitchers?

Glass pitchers are often preferred for a clean feel and easy rinsing, while plastic pitchers are usually lighter and easier to handle. This GF-59 cartridge is compatible with the listed Brita Maxtra and Maxtra+ pitcher systems.

Is this filter suitable for making coffee and bubble tea?

Yes. The filter helps reduce chlorine, lead, copper, and other impurities from tap water, improving the taste of drinking water and helping bring out the aroma of tea and coffee.

Can this water filter pitcher be used with well water?

This filter is designed for tap water used in compatible Brita pitchers. If using well water, make sure the water is safe to drink before filtration.
